Sales and Marketing Coordinator Intern

Contract position effective from September 8, 2025 – September 4, 2026
Latitude 46 Publishing celebrated 10 years in spring 2025 and continues to bring compelling books that reflect northern Ontario to the Canadian literary landscape. Our goal is to publish distinctive literary works by established and emerging authors with a connection to northern Ontario.
Latitude 46 Publishing is located in Sudbury, ON, along the 46th parallel. We are proud members of the Literary Press Group, Association of Canadian Publishers, and Ontario Book Publishers Organization.
We are seeking a full-time sales and marketing coordinator for a one-year contract. They will work closely with the Publisher to build awareness and discoverability for our growing list of books in Canada and the US. The position will involve managing relationships with our sales team, booksellers and librarians, analyzing and reporting on sales data, coordinating author events, and creating sales and marketing materials.
This is a funded internship position and candidates must:
- Be a new entrant into the workforce, or are transitioning to a new career, or the unemployed or underemployed who are entering a new field.
- Have not previously participated in an NOHFC funded internship in the 2020 Mandate.
- Be 18 years of age or older.
- Be legally eligible to work in Canada.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assist with planning and implementing marketing strategies for 5-7 books annually;
- Liaise with colleagues and authors to strategize marketing and publicity opportunities and to plan and execute promotions ;
- Produce promotional material such as postcards, posters, and advertisements;
- Collect and manage metadata updates on a regular basis;
- Maintain and create content for social media channels and monthly e-newsletter
to increase brand awareness, and encourage customer engagement;
- Create sell-sheets and other sales materials;
- Update sales reports from all sales channels and analyze on a regular basis;
- Assist with writing catalogue and cover copy for various markets and soliciting blurbs and endorsements;
- Other tasks as required.
Qualifications:
- An understanding of Canadian publishing industry either through previous experience or one of Canada’s publishing programs
- Strong attention to detail
- Superior writing and communication skills
- Proficient in Google Workspace and Canva
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize across multiple projects
- Strong awareness of social media platforms and digital marketing trends
- Strong time management, organizational and planning skills
- Passion for Canadian books
